Peyton Kolb, M.Ed., Ed.S., LMHC

Peyton is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Village Counseling Center specializing in school-based services for elementary-age children and their families. Since joining VCC in 2022, she has provided individual and family therapy, developed individualized treatment plans, and worked closely with schools, caregivers, and community providers to address a range of emotional, behavioral, and family concerns. Peyton’s clinical focus includes childhood trauma, play-based interventions, adoption and foster care, and helping children and families manage complex family circumstances. She earned both a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida and has additional training in play therapy, trauma-based cognitive therapy, verbal de-escalation, Baker Act procedures, human trafficking, and culturally responsive psychotherapy.

Before joining VCC, Peyton provided individual and group counseling at Pace Center for Girls Alachua, working with youth and families impacted by juvenile justice involvement, adoption and foster care, human trafficking, and abuse. Her earlier experience as a preschool teacher also gave her a strong foundation in child development, social-emotional learning, and relationship-building with young children and caregivers. Peyton brings these experiences together in a collaborative, developmentally informed approach that emphasizes safety, connection, and practical support. She is especially committed to helping children build healthy coping skills while partnering with families and schools to create environments that support lasting emotional and behavioral growth.
