Paula is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 35 years of experience in behavioral health, child welfare, and juvenile services. Since joining VCC in 1999, she has provided substance abuse, mental health, psychosexual, and amenability evaluations, along with individual and family therapy for children and adolescents. Her clinical practice includes specialized treatment for youth who have experienced sexual abuse, children and adolescents with sexually reactive or offending behaviors, and families facing complex behavioral and emotional concerns. Paula is also a Certified Juvenile Sex Offender Therapist and a Florida Qualified Supervisor for Clinical Social Work and Mental Health Counseling interns. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University.

As the former Regional Director, Paula brings substantial leadership and systems experience to her work at VCC. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Operations for the Henry & Rilla White Foundation, overseeing program operations, budgets, staff development, contract compliance, and clinical services. She also held clinical and supervisory roles with The Brown Schools of Florida and Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, including work in juvenile treatment programs and crisis stabilization services. Before entering behavioral health practice, Paula spent several years with the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services in child protective services, ultimately supervising investigations involving child abuse, neglect, abandonment, and exploitation. This combination of clinical, administrative, and child welfare experience gives Paula a broad perspective on the needs of children and families and informs her commitment to effective treatment, thoughtful supervision, and coordinated care across systems.
