Girl
Girl is the Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) at VCC and Alliance of Therapy Dogs Certified. She is a lovable chocolate Labrador Retriever who has been part of the Village Counseling Center team since she was just a puppy. She takes her job very seriously—especially the treats. Girl’s responsibilities include welcoming children, adults, and families; helping nervous visitors feel safe and comfortable; building trust one tail wag at a time; providing judgment-free emotional support; and reminding everyone that sometimes the best therapy starts with a wet nose and a furry friend. She is especially talented at making people smile, knowing when someone needs a little extra comfort, and offering unconditional friendship without asking too many questions. When she’s not helping clients feel safe, trusting, and happy, Girl can usually be found supervising the hallways, requesting back scratches, or conducting very important quality-control inspections of any snacks left within Labrador range.
