Brandi Hand, M.A., LMHC

Brandi is the Director of Operations at Village Counseling Center, where she oversees day-to-day operations across VCC’s three offices while also serving as a clinical supervisor, therapist, and director of the agency’s school-based mental health program. With more than 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, Brandi has developed extensive expertise in childhood trauma, sexual abuse, children and adolescents with sexual behavior problems, juvenile sexual offending, adoption-related concerns, school-based mental health and crisis intervention. Since joining VCC in 2008, she has provided specialized individual, group, and family therapy and completed psychosexual evaluations, sexual behavior assessments, trauma assessments, and mental health assessments for children, adolescents, and families with complex needs. Brandi is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Juvenile Sex Offender Therapist, Certified Adoption Counselor, Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist, and a Florida Qualified Supervisor for both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy interns.

Brandi has also played an important leadership role in expanding trauma-informed and school-based mental health services throughout North Florida. As Director of VCC’s school-based grant program, she oversees clinicians providing therapy in high-need elementary schools, provides clinical supervision and program oversight, and delivers training to school staff and community partners. She previously spent seven years with the Baker County School District providing assessment and therapeutic services to students with a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs. Throughout her career, Brandi has collaborated extensively with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Children and Families, child welfare agencies, school systems, and community behavioral health providers. She has also presented locally, statewide, and nationally on childhood trauma, trauma-informed care, school violence prevention, children with sexual behavior problems, and child-on-child sexual abuse. Her leadership reflects a longstanding commitment to high-quality clinical care, strong supervision, community collaboration, and improving systems of support for children and families.
