SEXUAL ABUSE PREVENTION & TREATMENT PROGRAM
This program is dedicated to helping children and adolescents impacted by sexual abuse and sexual behavior problems. We provide innovative, evidence-based treatment to help clients transcend trauma and build safe, healthy lives. Our comprehensive services include psychosexual assessments, psychological evaluations, and therapeutic approaches such as individual, family, and specialized group therapy. Our team has successfully treated thousands of clients, establishing us as a pioneering leader in the region.
TRAUMA RECOVERY PROGRAM FOR YOUTH, ADULTS & FAMILIES
We provide specialized treatment for children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced various forms of trauma (e.g., abuse, neglect, exposure to domestic violence). We are dedicated to helping survivors heal and build resilience. Our licensed, certified clinicians utilize evidence-based modalities like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Occupational Therapy.
Through therapy, we empower children and families by fostering emotional resilience, enhancing communication, and promoting healing. Our goal is to help clients:
- Understand the impact of trauma and identify triggers.
- Develop effective coping mechanisms and stress management techniques.
- Process traumatic experiences through verbal, written, or creative outlets.
- Build a sense of safety and promote healthy relationships.

The goal is to facilitate emotional and behavioral recovery, empowering clients and their families to re-engage in healthy, meaningful activities.
TRAUMA-FOCUSED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (OT)
Our trauma-focused occupational therapy services are designed for youth between the ages of 2 and 17 who have experienced complex trauma due to abuse or neglect. Our licensed and specially trained occupational therapists work to address the profound social, emotional, and sensory effects of trauma. They collaborate with our trauma specialists to structure environments, teach cognitive strategies, and build confidence and resilience by addressing difficulties with emotional regulation, stress management, and daily functioning.
ADOPTION SUCCESS PROGRAM
The Adoption Success Program provides education and support to prospective and post-adoptive families. Our goal is to increase the long-term success and quality of care in adoptive placements. Services are provided by licensed clinicians who are also Adoption Competent Counselors, with specialized training from the State of Florida. We help clients cope with the grief and loss that can precede adoption, build trusting relationships, and transition into a loving family. We do not discriminate based on age, ethnicity, or any other status.
VCC TRAINING & CONSULTATION SERVICES
The staff at VCC provides customized training programs and consultation services for professionals, community leaders, and foster parents. Our training topics include child sexual abuse, psychological trauma, domestic violence, parenting, adoption issues, and crisis intervention. Many of our training programs are approved for continuing education (CE) credits. Additionally, several of our therapists are Qualified Supervisors in Florida and provide clinical supervision for mental health interns working toward state licensure.
